Yukon Extended Warranty Information

If you are purchasing an GMC Yukon, or if you already own one, you may be thinking about getting some level of coverage beyond the normal GMC manufacturer warranty. Although Yukon's are generally very reliable vehicles, an extended auto warranty may provide you with protection to offer you the peace of mind you are looking for. GMPP for your Yukon can either extend the original level of coverage that came with your vehicle, or offer you a limited extended warranty plan. These plans are accepted nationwide at all GMC dealers, and also afford you with most of the benefits usually granted with new car purchases.

Yukon Extended Warranties - Alternative Provider

Although GMC offers a very good Yukon Extended Warranty, namely the GMPP - General Motors Protection Plan. Many consumers feel more comfortable with the convenience and affordability of an alternative Yukon extended warranty provider. You should investigate your options before picking your extended warranty plan.

Yukon Factory Warranty:

New Vehicle Limited Warranty on Yukon vehicles registered in the U.S.A. are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first (some GM products may have additional coverage). The complete vehicle is covered, including tires, towing to your nearest GMC Yukon dealership, and cosmetic corrosion resulting from defects. Repairs will be made to correct any vehicle defect, and most warranty repairs will be made at no charge. In addition, rust-through corrosion will be covered for 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). See your GMC Yukon dealer for details.

Corrosion Protection

Yukon are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your GMC Yukon dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

Assembly

Yukon's and their components are assembled or produced by different operating units of General Motors, its subsidiaries, or suppliers to GMC worldwide. General Motors sometimes find it necessary to produce Yukon vehicles with different or differently sourced components than originally scheduled. Since some options may be unavailable when your vehicle is assembled, General Motors suggests you verify that your Yukon includes the equipment you ordered and that, if there were changes, they are acceptable to you.

Engines

Yukon are equipped with engines produced by GMC Powertrain or other suppliers to GMC worldwide. The engines in GMC products may also be used in other GMC makes and models.

An Important Note About Alterations and Warranties

Installations or alterations to the original equipment vehicle (or chassis) as distributed by General Motors are not covered by the General Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The special body company, assembler, equipment installer, or upfitter is solely responsible for warranties on the body or equipment and any alterations (or any effect of the alterations) to any of the parts, components, systems, or assemblies installed by GMC. General Motors is not responsible for the safety or quality of design features, materials, or workmanship of any alterations by such suppliers.
